Mr Stevenson was appointed as Chairman and CEO of the AASB, by the Minister for Financial Services, Superannuation, Corporate Law and Human Services, until 30 June 2014. In view of his chairmanship of the AASB, he has also been appointed to the Financial Reporting Council and to the New Zealand Financial Reporting Standards Board.
Mr Stevenson was senior partner of the PricewaterhouseCoopers Global Capital Markets Group from 2005 to 2009. Prior to that he served as the Director of Technical Activities and as Chairman of the International Financial Reporting Interpretations Committee (IFRIC) for the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) in London from 2002 to 2005.
He is an Adjunct Professor of the University of Queensland’s Faculty of Business, Economics and Law and an Honorary Fellow of the Monash University’s Department of Accounting and Finance.
